Information Architecture
The first thing you need to do on the way of building system is define Information Architecture. For building good IA you need to know/understand the business goals behind the system and the resources available for implementation. Be aware of the nature and volume of content. You must learn about the needs and behaviors of major audience.
- Organization Systems – Categorization of information (by subject, chronology, e.g.)
- Labeling Systems -Representation of information
- Navigation Systems -Browsing or moving through information
- Searching Systems -Searching information
